Let's Get Sketchy - July 15th Sketch

Hi crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

The new and wonderful sketch from Let's Get Sketchy has been revealed!

Here's the sketch for 15th July

Here's my take

I was in the mood of scrapping old photo of my kid lately and this this time was no exception. I chose a photo of my daughter when she's about 10 or 11 years old, looking extremely happy posing on a horse at De Ranch Lembang.

I used My Mind's Eye collection from my stash to create this layout. I love the bright color and the flowers on the paper. It just screamed for summer don't you think!

The collection was super easy to work with. I just layered several papers, added some stickers and gold Thickers, and die cut the word Remember the Good Times using a decorative dies from Kaisercraft. I wanted to add more dimension with the die cut word so it would look like Thickers. So I cut the word for seven times and just layered them on top of another to achieve the dimension I was looking for. I was super happy with the result.

Let's Get Sketchy - July 1st Sketch

Hello my crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

I can't believe it's July already! It seemed that only yesterday that I celebrated the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Boy, time flies so quickly!

Well, 1st day of the month means new a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Here's the sketch created by Brenshevia

And here's my take

I decided to dig in deep into my stash so I used the long hoarded The Sweetest Things collection from My Mind's Eye. The papers in this collection are beautiful and really went well with the color of the photo. Perfect!

I was in the mood for mixed media when I created this layout. So I pulled out my stencils and used them to add extra textures on my layout.

I used tile mania stencil from Crafter's Workshop with orange tone ink that would match the color of the paper. I also used leaf stencil from Dyan Reaveley Dylusions with light green ink. Next I used Art Is stencil from Crafter's Workshop but this time with white texture paste so it would give an extra dimension to the page.

I really like the way it came up together. So lovely!

I hope you could play along with us at Let's Get Sketchy! Happy crafting!
